Can I transfer my VerteLith License to a different/new printer?

IMPORTANT NOTE: Technically, it is possible to reuse the license when a printer is replaced or broken; however, this goes against the license agreement. This is INTERNAL information and must not be communicated to customers. Customers are expected to use the license provided with the new printer.

Can I transfer or reuse my license?

  • No, you cannot transfer or reuse a VerteLith license for another printer. According to the VerteLith End-User License Agreement (EULA), each license is strictly tied to the original printer and PC.
  • Most Mutoh printers are delivered with a license included. You can use this license for the new printer.

 

Why can’t I just move the license?

  • The VerteLith license is linked to both the original printer’s serial number and the PC it was installed on.
  • License resets are only intended for situations where your PC is replaced or breaks down—not when replacing a printer.
  • This is strictly enforced by the EULA, Article 3 ("Replacement"):
    “In case of replacement of MUTOH printers, YOU are required to acquire the new License as set forth in Article 2 and enter a license key and a serial number of new MUTOH printers.”
